Meet MenuRoom, our new guide to restaurants, menus and food nearby — now monitored by MonitorUptime, with a public status page.
What are you in the mood for — and where can you find it? With our new service, MenuRoom, we want to make the journey from that question to your next restaurant visit a little shorter. We are now also welcoming MenuRoom to the websites monitored by MonitorUptime, with a public status page where visitors can follow its availability.
This launch is particularly close to our hearts: the team behind MonitorUptime also built MenuRoom. We are using our own monitoring service for a product we develop and run ourselves.
Finding somewhere to eat can involve a surprising amount of searching. One restaurant puts its menu in a PDF, another lists prices on a separate page, and sometimes you know exactly what you want to eat but not which restaurant serves it.
MenuRoom brings publicly available restaurant and menu information together in a searchable service. Start with a dish, a cuisine, a restaurant or a location, then explore your options. Pizza for the family, sushi near work or a new pasta favourite on a weekend away — the idea is to let your appetite guide your search.
MenuRoom helps you:
You do not need an account to search. The service also offers multiple language options and restaurant listings in several countries, making it useful both at home and when exploring somewhere new.
MenuRoom is an independent restaurant and menu guide, not a booking service. Menus, prices and availability can change. Links to the restaurant's own information help you check the current offering before your visit.
MenuRoom is not only for people looking for their next meal. Restaurant owners can verify ownership and get started free of charge, updating menus, prices, opening hours and contact details. They can also highlight selected dishes and respond to guest reviews.
For restaurants ready to take the next step, paid plans offer a dedicated website, images and additional menu tools. Custom domains are available under the relevant plan terms. This lets a restaurant start with the basics and build on its online presence as its needs grow.

A restaurant guide needs to be available when people want to use it: just before lunch, on the way to dinner or when friends are deciding where to eat. A website that does not respond at that moment risks losing both the visitor's interest and a restaurant's chance to be discovered.
That is why we now monitor MenuRoom with MonitorUptime. A check runs every five minutes, verifying that the homepage returns the expected HTTP status and contains the MenuRoom name. Monitoring can alert us to availability problems; it is not a guarantee against outages or a complete test of every feature on the website.
On MenuRoom's public status page, you can follow website availability, response times and the measurement history collected since monitoring began.
For us, this is a practical example of MonitorUptime in action. We build new services — and use our own tools to keep an eye on them.
